The Girl behind BookMark

Sometimes a poet, sometimes an engineer, always a traveller…

A few things:

  • I have been an avid reader since childhood. Over the past 18 years (that’s how long ago I started listing the books I read), I’ve steadily managed to read a book every ten days. That’s 36 books a year, about 650 books till date. But there have been many times when I’m asked to recommend and I fail, because I don’t remember plots in great detail.
  • Feeling. Every time I finish a book I associate it with a feeling. Years later, that is all that remains. I have a hard time explaining to a lot of people that I do not remember details but I am not recommending a book with no thought process.
  • That’s why this blog began – to contain my opinions and feelings about the books I read. I will take liberty to criticise or applaud any twist in the tale here.
  • I hope more people read and read well. I have a dream – that I will find Chaucer easy to understand, and that one day, people will not mind spending on a book of poems as opposed to cheap novellas.

I work in Technology Innovation by day and have recently completed an MA in Literature, which has been hard work!

My portfolio of published work and my professional bio is here.

This here is my other blog!
