2015 was a bad year for my reading. I picked up many books that I abandoned because I did not enjoy them. And then I just didn’t pick books up many months of the year. I tried to make up for it in Nov and Dec but that didn’t go very well either. That’s all going to have to change.
One of the things I’ve never done before is a Reading challenge. I’ve signed up for one this year, hosted by You, Me and a Cup of Tea. It is a Classics challenge, which will be nice as I really enjoy reading them. We’ll see…
Do you sign up to ‘challenges’?
I’ve always failed badly at them. Last year I didn’t do any challenges, but this year I am thinking of a crime thriller challenge I saw on the web, and the standard classics, and Man Booker challenge that I have perennially going on.
Well one can keep trying! A crime thriller challenge shouldn’t be too hard 😉
I set personal goals for myself. This year, my goal is 100 books; however, 41 of those books will be re-reads, namely, the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett.
I wish you a more successful reading year in 2016 – I don’t do challenges as I find they restrict my reading but I’m often tempted if that makes sense…
Good luck with your challenge! 🙂
I do take part in challenges, esp. if they motivate me to read a variety of genres. This year apart from the Goodreads challenge, I am taking part in 2016 Monthly Motif Reading Challenge. I shared about it here – https://dreamzandclouds.wordpress.com/2016/01/04/2016/
